The fun stuff

If you're bored reading about my success in life, here's some fun stuff you can get into; for video games we're looking at: SoulsBorne games (not DS2 though , choose any other of FromSoftware's games), Monster Hunter:World, Dragon's Dogma (they just released 2), Smite, and Bingle Bingle or Ballatro. For music we got mainly metal and emo stuff: Peirce the Veil, Bring me the Horizon, Erra, Make Them Suffer, My Chemical Romance, Blink-182 (I said mostly after all), I See Stars, and Bad Omens. I won't go into detail for each one cause the table would be huge but the big hitters will be on there.

The good and bad of the bunch

Music or Video game Reasons why you definitely should check it out Reasons why maybe it's not for everyone Extra comments
Souls series Game Probably the greatest series in video game history. Great sense of progression, feeling of achievement when discovering new things, most games in the series have something different to offer so one of them should reel you in. REALLY hard. No tutorial, no map (on most of them), limited HUD, can get lost in the first game as it's a very inter connected map, you will die a LOT. Don't play Dark Souls 2. It's terrible.
Monster Hunter Game You get to hit really big monsters with really big weapons (some are small but only a couple). Something like 14 different weapons with most of them playing completely styles of fighting and you can see yourself get way stronger throughout the game. Can also be hard but definitely not as much as souls games. If you want to get really powerful you will have to put an enormous amount of time into the game so if you're a casual gamer, you proably won't have the time. If you don't care about that and just wanna get kinda strong, you can do that very quickly. I advise playing MH:World first as it was many people's first MH game and it's pretty good as an intro. Also it's the prettiest.
Dragon's Dogma Game Another Japanese game, clearly they know what they're doing. Combat unlike anything I've ever seen before. Pretty slow combat but weighty and your decisions matter since you can't just instantly roll out of attacks if you mess up positioning (unless you use daggers). You can summon meteors or massive pillars of stone, or just hit a griffon REALLY hard. A paragraph does NOT do this games combat justice. The story in the first game is notoriously bad, and none of the characters are even remotely interesting, relatable, or likeable at all honestly. Also the DLC is pretty poorly balanced with early enemies being a pushover and late enemies being about unkillable. Also extremely limited fast travel so you end up spending a lot of time just running which is boring. Dragon's Dogma 2 just came out and the graphics in this game are beautiful. The first game was kinda ugly, but the graphics on 2 are WAY better (1 did come out like 10 years ago so makes sense). 2 also alleviated the fast travel issue partially.
Bring Me the Horizon Music Gods gift to humanity in the form of a band. They have such a massive range of music there's no way they don't have a single song you would like. They have extremely heavy death metal in their first album, then got lighter and more pop focused every album up to their 6th album Amo, where it was almost pure pop. I don't think many would like EVERY album since the difference between their start and them now is massive. I don't know anyone that likes such a massive range of music. The fourth album, Sempiternal, is considered by many (including me) to be their best album. I think it's THE best album ever made, but if you don't like metal at all try that's the spirit or Amo (rock and pop albums respectively).
Make Them Suffer Music Incredible metal band with male and female vocalists which breaks up the potential monotony that can stem from only having one singer. Some of their songs are soft, some are heavy, and my favorite ones from them are both at different points in the song. I love the mixup in style they do sometimes mid-song. At the end of the day they are a metal band, and that kind of music just scares people so if that's not your thing they won't have many songs for you. Ghost of me is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, on par with the best songs from BMTH's Sempiternal album.
